Programs
At St Peters Preschool, children learn through play-based activities that inspire curiosity and creativity. We focus on fostering relationships that help them:
• Develop a strong sense of identity
• Connect with and contribute to their world
• Build a strong sense of well-being
• Grow as confident and engaged learners
• Become effective communicators
These principles, guided by the Early Years Learning Framework, shape our educational philosophy and programs.
Creek Visit
Twice a week we offer the children an opportunity to visit and explore the creek lands behind the preschool.
Fire Pit
Under the careful guidance of our educators, the preschoolers join in assisting the lighting of the fire pit with a flint. The children are encouraged to have a go and are very excited when they are able to produce a flame! After the fire is lit, they sit around the fire and eat freshly popped popcorn that is made on the fire.
Baking
The children love to take part in our baking program. In small groups they take turns measuring, adding, mixing and scooping the batter - and of course eating the finished goods which they share with their friends. Sometimes they make birthday cakes for children celebrating their birthdays at preschool. You can find more information about what is required for those recipes here
Music
The music program is a much loved program that fosters a love for music and learning within the children, as they take turns in joining in on songs using various instruments such as tambourines, castanets, maracas and triangles.
